It's set in a old church in a small country town called Perth which is 10 minutes out of Launceston. Ut Si has the sweetest little mantra which I really relate to as it's something I try to live by, "Source locally. Eat Seasonally. Live Responsibility".
Their menu is based around seasonal produce, much of what they grow in their own kitchen garden out the back, complete with chickens. Too cute. On Saturday mornings they have a growers market where they sell home grown produce, bread and home made preserves.
Today was a pulled pork pizza from the brick wood fire and soup with home made bread, again cooked in the brick wood fire. It was sensational.
Ritual coffee is roasted locally and as they say in Japan "it's good taste".
Well worth a visit if you're able, your stomach will thank you for it! Ut Si can be found at 86 Main Rd, Perth TAS. Additionally if you want to stalk them a bit more, check them out at utsicafe.blogspot.com or "like" them on Facebook.
Oh wow, thank-you Alex. Please say hi next time you're in.
ReplyDeleteCheers,
